Overlooking the picturesque Chianti hills, Villa La Palagina, with its rustic charm, elegant rooms, stunning swimming pool area, restaurant, and wine cellar, provided the perfect setting for this momentous occasion. In Hinduism, marriage represents the joining of two eternal souls, united in their pursuit of the purushartha, or the four aims of life: dharma (righteousness), artha (prosperity), kama (desire), and moksha (liberation). It is viewed as a spiritual partnership that intertwines the minds, bodies, and souls of the couple, forging sacred bonds not only between them but also between their families.
Shruti and Rushil’s wedding was a sensory extravaganza, as our senses were continuously tantalized by an array of scents, sights, and sounds throughout the three-day festival. From vibrant decorations to aromatic cuisine and captivating music, every moment was a celebration of love and joy.

The ceremonies are traditionally conducted in Sanskrit, the mother of all Indian languages.

The bride’s hands and feet are adorned with intricate henna designs, representing well wishes, joy, and love. It is believed that the depth of the mehndi color indicates the level of happiness in the couple’s married life. Interestingly, the groom’s name is often hidden within the patterns, and he must find it following a playful tradition. While traditionally exclusive to the bride and her female relatives, it has become increasingly common for grooms to join in the mehndi celebration.
The Hindu wedding rituals embrace the five elements of nature: fire, earth, water, air, and ether. These rituals involve invocations to the Divine and the exchange of vows between the couple. The ceremonies take place in the presence of a sacred fire, symbolizing Agni, the God of Fire.
